Everything starts with an idea. What if JK Rowling had never written down the idea that came to her while riding on a train about a young boy named Harry Potter? She had nothing but a napkin to write on, but she DID act on the idea - and 7 books (and movies) later, look how that idea turned out.
Every one of the modern conveniences and inventions we enjoy today came about because somebody acted on their idea. They may have had people tell them it was stupid, or ridiculed them for believing they could do something, or failed a thousand times in the process. But they didn’t give up. And neither should you.
One of my favorite quotes is from the movie Pursuit of Happyness. “Don’t ever let somebody tell you you CAN’T do something… You got a dream, you’ve got to protect it. If people can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you YOU can’t do it. If you want something, go get it. Period.”
You have great potential. You were put on this earth for a specific reason, and no one else can fulfill that purpose but you.
You can make a difference in this world, even if you can’t see it. You have something to offer, and it’s your job to discover what that is.
Your assignment for today is to sit down and brainstorm. First, write down the things you enjoy doing most in this life. What do you LOVE to do? Then I want you to write down the things you do WELL. You know what they are. Whether people have told you you’re good at it, or it’s something no one even knows about, there is something you do very well. Think about how important that thing is.
What kinds of things could you do with those gifts? Brainstorm the possibilities. How could your gift help others? How will you benefit mankind? The world is waiting to discover you and your gift. There are lives to be touched. You have a mission here. What is it?
Come back tomorrow for more about discovering yourself, and finding the answers to that question.

This post was really neat. I haven't sat down and done anything like this in a very long time (since YW I think). I'm going to do it!
